Hadith when Prophet (PBUH) delayed Prayer after hearing Iqaamah

Praise be to Allah,

Ismaa’eel ibn Ibraaheem narrated to us from ‘Abdul-‘Azeez ibn Shuhayb from Anas ibn Maalik said,

“[Once] the Iqaamah for prayer was called while Allah’s Messenger (PBUH) was talking to a man [in a low voice] in the mosque, and he did not get up to [lead] the prayer until the people dosed off [in a sitting posture].”

(Musnad Ahmad, Vol. 3, p. 101. The isnaad of this hadeeth is Saheeh. according to the conditions set by al-Bukhaaree and Muslim.)

Note: Iqaaamah is the shorter call to prayer that is immediately made just prior to five obligatory prayers to let people know that prayer is about to begin

Al Bukhari narration mentions that only some of the people dozed off.
